Producers usually judge supply by physical things – capacity, output, quality control. For a buyer in an importing country, supply also has a legal side, because a product only works if it is allowed across the destination border. That can change even when the material itself does not.
Several rules are changing at once. China is updating how it registers overseas facilities that produce food and feed products, with a new rule (GACC Decree 280) taking effect on 1 June 2026 (USDA FAS; China-Briefing). Vietnam has issued guidance to help exporters adjust (aviNews, 2026). On top of registration, animal-disease status recognised by the World Organisation for Animal Health – including ASF, HPAI and FMD – keeps changing which origins can serve which markets, sometimes with little warning.
For a buyer, this means an origin can become unusable for a market even while the material is plentiful, simply because the paperwork behind it no longer meets that market’s rules. Putting import access next to price and availability in a supply-risk check gives a truer picture of what is really secure.
For a producer, the same point works in your favour. A plant with clear, well-documented access to a growing Asian market has an edge over a cheaper competitor without it, and the real limit is often reach and representation, not production. Plants that are under-used at home often have the most to gain from being matched to demand they cannot reach today.
MANTA buys as principal from producers and sells to buyers who need steady supply, and access runs through both. If your plant has capacity and quality but limited reach into Asian markets, send us your details.
Rule references are general and can change; requirements are confirmed per market and per inquiry. This is market perspective, not legal or compliance advice.
